My Portfolio

This was my second project for Illustration Narrative. The assignment was to create a rural scene with farm animals. To help us with inspiration and body ratio, our class went to a farm and sketched several animals, specifically horses, sheep, cows, and chickens. While at the farm, I noticed that horses' eyes are always being bothered by flies. I wanted my piece to display the rivalry between horse and fly in a surreal, comic fashion. The most cartoonish style I came up with was the superhero/supervillian genre, with the horse and fly as the protagonist and antagonist, respectfully. The plot in this one panel is that the fly-villain built insect-like robots to help him take over the farm. However, the superhero-horse comes to save the day, with the help of his horseshoe tools.
